You have reached the home of Klondike, the original solitaire game for Macintosh. The latest version of Klondike is 10.2, which runs on Mac OS X 10.2 and later (except for 10.2.2-10.2.4). Klondike 10.2 is a Universal application, which means that it runs natively on both PPC and Intel Macs. Older versions of Klondike support Macintosh System 6, 7, 8 and 9, in color or B/W, and run on any Macintosh computer from the Plus to the PowerPC G5. It allows you to play five different solitaire games: Klondike, Canfield, Golf, Racing Demons, or FreeCell.
Klondike is 9.1 is an earlier, PPC-only version requiring Mac OS X or at least Mac OS 8.5 with CarbonLib 1.1 or later installed. This version of Klondike does not include the FreeCell game, but it allows the cards and layout to be expanded for easier viewing, if you have installed a suitable scalable font (see How to Play for details). It also includes a set of high resolution face card images, for a more pleasing appearance when the cards have been expanded.
Klondike will only remember the enlarged layout size if your copy was registered after June 30, 2001. A reduced-price upgrade registration is available for those who registered previously.
Klondike 7.7.1, while it does not support an expanded layout, will run on any MacOS computer running System 6.x or later, including Mac OS X with Aqua (thanks to Eric Grant, author of FATCarbon, which allows Klondike to function as either a Carbon or Classic application automatically). Version 7.7.1 has been tested on System 6.x with the Mac Plus, and has been enhanced for compatibility with MacOS X and Aqua.
